Our East Tennessee family, we are so grateful for each and every one of you. Our client base has been so accommodating – mediating by zoom, conference calls where our youngest Burton McKinnish, PLLC team can be heard in the background working on schoolwork, washing hands and wearing masks when contact is necessary. We cannot thank you enough for your support. Our team has been efile based for years so we have been able to work seamlessly. However, we miss the rhythm of a normal workday with court and in-person client contact as much as everyone else.
At Burton McKinnish, PLLC, we take the health of our staff and clients to heart. To that end, we will, in accordance with the recommendations of the federal, state and local governments begin to slowly return to normal operations. We have, as an essential business, worked throughout the pandemic, but with precautions. Our office is open as always from 8:30 a.m.-5p.m. Monday-Friday however to comply with social distancing we are working with our staff spread out between telework and in-office to limit person to person contact. From now through May 15, 2020, we will continue to meet with clients and conduct hearings remotely. As of May 15, 2020, we will resume in person consultations while still offering remote consultations to clients who are high risk due to health concerns.
The Social Security Administration is conducting telephone hearings only through the end of August, 2020. The Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an Order on Friday, April 24, 2020 that courts will continue the month of May to hold the majority of hearings avoiding in-person contact and jury trials will not resume until July 3, 2020. Our courts are trying their very best to move justice forward while protecting clients and attorneys alike. Thank you again for your support during this time. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at 865-233-1105.
