Tegan Couch joined the Burton McKinnish, PLLC team as a paralegal in September of 2016 while she was completing her juris doctorate degree. Upon graduating and becoming licensed, Tegan transitioned into her current position as an Associate Attorney with the firm.
Tegan received her undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and has more than fifteen years’ experience working as a paralegal in Kentucky prior to entering law school. Tegan graduated from Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law cum laude in May 2018. During her studies she was awarded the Cali Award for her excellent performance in Wills, Trusts & Estates, as well as Criminal Practice and Procedure. She was also named to the Dean’s List during several semesters.
Tegan and her fiancé, Jerry, reside in Seymour and are the parents to two wonderful daughters, Landry and Leighton. She remains involved in the Seymour community by assisting with youth basketball leagues, and volunteering at her daughters’ school, when possible. Although she was raised in the coal fields of Eastern Kentucky, Tegan and her family fell in love with East Tennessee and she is dedicated to protecting the rights of her fellow Tennesseans.
Tegan brings years of experience in assisting injured and disabled workers to Burton McKinnish, PLLC. Her practice areas include, but are not limited to personal injury, workers’ compensation, Social Security, and criminal defense.
